Ashes Fantasy – Rules & Scoring

How your XI scores points over the Ashes Test series.

1. Squads & selection

  • You pick a playing XI for each Test.
  • Total budget: £100m.
  • Each player has a fixed price; your XI must stay within the budget.
  • Players prices will not increase/decrease during the series.
  • You must respect role limits across your XI:
    • Exactly 1 wicketkeeper (WK)
    • Up to 5 batters (BAT)
    • Up to 5 bowlers (BOWL)
    • Up to 3 all-rounders (AR)
  • Country limits:
    • Maximum 7 England players
    • Maximum 7 Australia players
  • You must also choose:
    • 1 Captain (⭐)
    • 1 Vice-captain (🅥)

2. Transfers & Availability

  • You can only pick your XI for a test once the previous test has been completed.
  • For Test 1, you have unlimited changes to your XI until the transfer deadline.
  • For Tests 2 through 5, you will have 3 transfers per Test match. Changes must be made before the deadline (shown on the team page)
  • Exact start times and transfer deadlines are shown on your My Team page.
  • After the transfer deadline for a Test has passed, your XI is locked for that Test.
  • Unused transfers do not roll over, they are lost.

3. Scoring – per innings

Points are awarded as follows:

  • Batting
    • +1 point per run scored
    • Duck (out for 0) -10 points
    • 50 runs (in an innings) +20
    • 100 runs (in an innings) +50 (overriding the 20 poitns for 50 runs)
  • Bowling
    • +20 points per wicket
    • 5fer (5 or more wickets in a single innings) +50
    • Hat-trick 3 wickets in 3 balls +75
  • Fielding
    • +10 per catch
    • +15 per stumping
    • +20 per run out

4. Captain & Vice-captain

  • Your Captain scores ×2
  • Your Vice-captain scores 1.5×
  • You cannot pick the same player as both Captain and Vice-captain.
  • If your captain or vice-captain does not play, you have lost your multiplier for that player.

Prize Competition & Tie-Break Rules

This fantasy Ashes game is run as a skill-based prize competition. The outcome is determined entirely by strategy, selection choices and player performance across the 2025/26 Ashes series.

How the winner is decided

The entrant with the highest total points across all Tests in the series will be declared the overall winner.

Tie-break rules (teams)

If two or more teams finish on the same number of points, the following tie-break rules apply:

  • Most points in the final test match
  • Highest single test score across the series
  • Best captain score across the series
  • Earliest team registration

Tie-break rules (mini-leagues)

If two or more mini-leagues finish on the same average score, the following tie-break rules apply:

  • The league with more members wins
  • If still tied, the league with the highest scoring team wins
  • If still tied, the earliest created league wins
